Positive Pay software is available as stand-alone software or it can seamlessly integrate with UltraChecks Complete or UltraChecks II for MAS products by Best Software.
Positive Pay is the leading method of check fraud deterrence available today.
The Positive Pay method details the check reconcilement of your company’s issued checks to those checks presented to your bank for payment. It is then that your bank can identify potentially fraudulent checks.
Upon completion of a check run, your company prepares a formatted data file of the checks issued that includes the check number, amount, date, and other bank account information. This data file is then transmitted to your bank for their review. The data file transmitted to your bank can also include stop payments, voided checks and manual checks.
When a check is presented for payment to your bank, each check is compared to the information provided by the transmitted data file. Any check that does not match the details of your data file is flagged, and a suspect list is forwarded your company for review. The suspect checks are resolved prior to the bank authorizing payment and your company retains the right to reject any check it believes to be fraudulent.
