A Solution to Your Security Needs
MICR Tech’s Secure Font Module (SFM) is a security device designed to store print-resources such as forms, fonts, signatures, and logos on a removable multimedia card. This removable technology allows you to physically take your secure fonts and signatures out of the system and lock them away for safekeeping. Without the multimedia card—containing your secure check-printing data—physically in the SFM the printer cannot print checks. When used properly this feature eliminates the printer’s ability to print unauthorized fraudulent checks, drafts, gift certificates, money orders or other such documents.
In normal operation, the module’s output cable is connected to the standard parallel port of any PCL printer and its input cable is connected to the printer’s data source. When your secure files are needed for printing, the multimedia card is plugged into the module and the fonts are automatically loaded into the RAM of the printer. Regular document printing will be unaffected since the module is transparent to all host data streams.
